Hi, I’m Brianne Leeson
If you’re going to be investing time and money into coaching with me, you deserve to know more than just a list of academic achievements. That way, you can get a idea of whether or not I’m the right coach for you up front. Let me start with some basic statements of my values. If you don’t vibe with these, then I’m probably not the best coach for you (and that’s okay!).
I believe that Black Lives Matter, that food and housing are a human right, and that gender is a spectrum. I believe that trans people are exactly who they know themselves to be, that billionaires shouldn’t exist, and any form of activism that fails to be intersectional does more harm than good. I believe that if I didn’t have to exist under capitalism, I’d happily do this for free. (But alas, I live in a crumbling empire.)
You still with me? Sweet! Now that we have the big, important stuff out of the way, we can get to the cute bio part.
I have a BA in linguistics, with a minor in social science, concentrating in anthropology. Like many late diagnosed autistic folks, my university education was my own attempt at understanding humans better.
My special interests include, but aren’t limited to: writing, Star Trek, vampires, art history, dermatology, My Chemical Romance, comic books, dogs, and cults.
I received my ADHD and autism diagnoses, back to back, at 30 years old. Those explained why things that seemed so easy for everyone else were so hard for me. After these huge self discoveries, I set out to undo 30 years of programming that told me I had to do things the neurotypical way. With ADHD and autism becoming new special interests, I haven’t shut my fucking mouth about either one since.
One of my other jobs is as a writer and voice actor for my audio drama, Today’s Lucky Winner. I write both an autistic and ADHD character on my show. That, along with the other podcasts I’ve been fortunate enough to be a guest on, has connected me with neurodivergent folks from around the world. I’ve received so many messages from people, saying that my show, or a show I guested on, sparked their own autistic self discovery.
That’s what this coaching practice is about for me. More than anything, I want to be the person I wish I’d had when I was discovering my own neurodivergence. Whether you suspect you may be autistic, are self diagnosed, or have known you’re autistic/AuDHD and need some extra help- I want to be the autistic sounding board that helps you with the enormous mental labor of figuring out how to be kinder to yourself.
